MEET JANUARY’S MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – Judson Meinhart, GRYP President

Judson Meinhart is the Wealth Advisor for RKL Wealth Management in Reading, PA. Some of Judson’s noted achievements include: Graduating Alvernia University’s Leadership Berks in 2016, named on the 40 under 40 list by Lehigh Valley Business in 2017 and most importantly making it through his first year being a dad, in February 2018.

He joined GRYP in 2012, when he was encouraged by his former employer to take advantage of the membership through GRYP’s nonprofit partnership. His involvement included the sports leagues, where he met several people that are now close friends. From there, Judson increased his involvement by volunteering for several committees and in 2016 served a two year term as Vice President. Judson is now beginning a two term as GRYP’s board President.

He attends the monthly third Thursday events as regularly as possible. Judd loves food, (cooking and eating). Living in West Reading gives him access to the neighborhood’s local restaurants, bars and farmer’s market. Activities that spark his interests include anything outdoors, a game at the Fightin’ Phils or running the Thun and Wyomissing Creek trails.

Other community activities:

  • Served on a Community Youth Aid Panel, which is a diversionary program for youth run by the Juvenile Probation Office.
  • Served on the board and as governance chair for Girls on the Run Berks County.

Tips to other young professionals:

“There are ample career opportunities for young professionals no matter what stage of your career you’re in and there’s such a diverse array of recreational activities.  It really is a great place to live, work, and play!”

Some insight from Judson: How can you advance your career, what did you use?

“Listening is an underrated skill.  If you can become a really good listener, you’ll be able to do two things.  First, learn a lot more, which is a benefit in itself.  Second, you’ll be more apt to build genuine, lasting relationships in your personal and professional life.”
