MEET FEBRUARY’S MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – Emily Moore, Marketing Chair
Emily Moore is the Manager of Marketing and Digital Media at the Reading Public Museum in Reading, PA. Some of her noted achievements: Lambda Pi Eta, national honors society for Communication Studies through Kutztown University. She is not a Berks County native, so as a graduate of Kutztown University, she joined GRYP to meet other young professionals in the area.
Emily joined GRYP in 2016, after starting a new position at The Museum. Her GRYP involvement includes sitting on both the Marketing and Events committees. This year, she is now serving as Marketing Chair and still a member of the Events committee. Emily enjoys attending the monthly Happy Hours and Third Thursday events. She is also excited to attend her first G!G! event in March, in addition to assisting in the planning process.
She is originally from Downingtown, PA and with being new to the Reading area, Emily is looking forward to exploring, hiking and site seeing around the area, especially with the warm weather approaching. Emily is also a music lover, she’s excited about the Santander Arena being located right in downtown Reading. She also enjoys going to all the local restaurants.
Her take on being a young professional in the Greater Reading area:
“There are many wonderful things about being a young professional in the greater reading area. From the variety of career opportunities, to the sites, restaurants, and activities there are to do.”
Other community activities:
In 2017, Emily volunteered for the Berks Jazz Fest and really enjoyed the experience. Since moving to the area she is excited to get more involved with other non-profit organizations in the community.
Tips to other young professionals:
“Embrace new challenges, it will only further your skills and career.”
