Alissa Ott is the Marketing Specialist for Penske Truck Leasing located in Reading, PA. She joined GRYP in 2010, after graduating from Penn State, Alissa was looking for a way to meet new people in the area and getting more involved in the community. She moved to the King of Prussia area for a job in 2011, but rejoined GRYP and returned to Berks County in 2016 when she started working at Penske.

Alissa has increased her involvement by volunteering for several committees, including the membership committee and in 2017 became a member of the GRYP board of directors. She also plays in both GRYP football and kickball leagues.

She attends the monthly third Thursday events as regularly as possible and exploring all that West Reading has to offer; from annual festivals to incredible food and craft beer. “I am amazed at how much the area has changed over the years.” To stay active and take advantage of the beautiful landscape here in the area, she enjoys running at Grings Mill and spending time with her family.

As a young professional in Berks County, Alissa stated it is important to get involved and give back to the community. In addition to her involvement in GRYP, she is also a member of the Emerging Leaders United (ELU) through the United Way.  “I have volunteered my time and have witnessed the generosity of Berks Countians. To be part of two organizations ingrained in making Berks County a great place to live and work, it inspires me to set an example for generations to come. Also, I feel it’s important to stop focusing on the negative and start talking about the positive. So much has changed for the better in the Greater Reading area. As young professionals, we need to be proud of that and keep it going.”

Alissa is involved with various community service projects around the Greater Reading area.
